Imitation of Life
No, not the 1959 movie (that stars Lana Turner and John Gavin), but thinking...about life. And really living it. Drifting into thought that this may be all a....program. Not real. Those moments where you disassociate yourself from the world around you.
Not because of stress or anxiety. You just tune out the world about you and become merely an observer.
Can happen in a mall. A Target. Ralph's. While walking down a sidewalk, downtown.
Anyways, its this damn cough. And I've been taking Daytime/Nighttime Theraflu and it makes my mind WEIRD. I lost my voice last week. Was getting better and then I lost it again. And it comes with this cough. Which isn't COVID-19 (I looked it up).
I'm tired (from coughing), woozy (from the Theraflu) and listless (from everything). Because I haven't been able to train (heavy) and its killing my zest. Bummed, man. Really, bummed.
Tonight, I'm going to sketch Max Von Sydow. He passed away today, at 90. He's been a formidable presence in my life - The Exorcist, The Seventh Seal, Flash Gordon, Three Days of the Condor (!), Conan the Barbarian....DUNE....Minority Report (!!)...among so many others. And now, he's gone. It will be weird going this day forward with him no longer part of this plane of existence. But, here we are. I hope I do him justice.
And with that, I'm off to sketch and wind down. Its going to start raining soon. I like to hear the rain as I fall asleep. So comforting. I hope that I can, tonight and wake up to rain, too.
Good night. Sleep well.
Here's a little something to add some color to this post.
